Found this in one of my sketch books from the fall. Thought it serendipitous that I was following deer tracks in the snow outside earlier today, looking for signs of what they were after. The ground hasn’t been covered for long but the next two months always draw out the neighbors looking for any vegetation to hold them over for the abundance of spring. I threw the book on the scanner not realizing I had never removed some of the more recent watercolors I was working on. Sometimes the connections aren’t as apparent until you put two different works side by side. They seem to fit with each other.
